Hand-made in Europe

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is entirely manufactured in Europe, from the smallest component to the plinth and tonearm, setting this turntable apart from other mass-produced competitors. With such close eyes on the production of this turntable, Pro-Ject is able to deliver a turntable with truly astounding build quality, so you’re guaranteed an exceptional analog experience.

Push-button speed control

To make it as easy as possible for customers to get started with the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB an electronic speed control is integrated into the turntable - activated with a simple switch on the front-left of the plinth. This allows easy switching between the two most common speed formats, 33 and 45 RPM.

8.6” aluminium construction tonearm & Ortofon OM5e cartridge

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB has a straight, 8.6” tonearm with a stiff aluminium construction. This one-piece tonearm also features low-friction bearings for absolute accuracy in use. Besides the clean and stylish looks, the integrated head shell won‘t cause any additional vibrations either, a big upgrade from common screwed or glued-on head shells you normally see in turntables at this price point. The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB comes pre-fitted with an Ortofon OM5e Moving Magnet cartridge, which features an elliptical diamond stylus tip for accurate playback and a pre-weighted counter weight. Meaning it is ready to play, straight out of the box! No adjustments, no need to balance the tonearm.

Phonostage on board

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB includes an on-board switchable moving magnet phono stage. This means that the turntable is ready-to-go out of the box, but also has the flexibility for the customer to upgrade their phono stage in the future. This could be a separate phonostage, or an in-built phono in their existing amplifier.

Heavy glass platter & stylish plinth

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is supplied with a heavy, low-resonance glass platter. A significant upgrade from plastic or lightweight steel alternatives, this new platter both looks stylish & provides the consistent speed that your vinyl needs to sound its best. The plinth supporting the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is created using precision CNC routing, meaning there are no hollow spaces, as well as no plastic pieces, commonly found in entry-level turntables, resulting in avoidance of unwanted vibrations. The turntable is available in a stylish Piano Black finish.

Tone Publications: Legacy audiophiles forget that we all started somewhere, and most likely it wasn’t with a megabucks system. I can’t think of a combination that is more user friendly, with such a high level of sound and build quality than the Project T1. Another thing often overlooked, is that an entry level has to deliver compelling enough sound for the user to stay interested. Again, the T1 is a major triumph in this regard.

HiFi Pig: It’s a lot of kit for the price - turntable, cartridge/stylus, built in phono stage & speed control, fitment tools and accessories all included. Plus it looks and sounds amazing. Definitely good value for money.
