SorboGel Q-Feet (set of 4)

TURNTABLE/CD-PLAYER SENSITIVE TO FLOOR SHOCK?

HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ACOUSTIC FEEDBACK?

One of the greatest problems with turntables are their inability to reject vibration well.  A recent technology in materials to address has been the use of "SorboGel" - an extremely pliable yet inert rubber like material.   Audioquest SorboGel Q-FEET provide exceptional damping and isolation to improve the performance of turntables, CD players and all vibration-sensitive equipment.  Have problems with howling when you turn the volume up while listening to phono records.  Q-Foot can stop acoustic feedback.

Q-Feet are recommended for components that weigh no more than 26 lbs (12Kg) per set of four. For heavier equipment use more Q-Feet.  Dimensions: 3" X7/8."  (75mm x 22mm) .

SorboGell material has an amazing ability to control unwanted vibration. SorboGell appears to be solid and rubber-like, but is actually a semi-liquid composed of very long synthetic molecules which are barely cross-linked. This means that when SorboGell is touching something that vibrates, it can absorb and damp the vibration by wiggling the long molecules, thereby turning the kinetic energy (motion) into an irrelevant amount of heat. Too much weight on too little SorboGell will cause compression, preventing the molecules from wiggling properly.

A gel-filled half-sphere design made of Sorbothane, which has the incredible ability to absorb unwanted vibration by reduced shear in the horizontal plane. When kinetic energy (motion) is transferred into Sorbothane, it causes the very long synthetic molecules to wiggle, which causes the kinetic energy to transfer into an irrelevant amount of heat.

Too much weight on too little Sorbothane will cause compression, preventing the molecules from wiggling properly. For maximum effectiveness, each AQ Big Foot should not support more than 8 pounds, or a total of 35 pounds per set of 4. For best damping and isolation, place the flat side directly against your equipment.

The unique mechanical behavior of SorboGell means it can absorb energy from a component without bouncing the energy back into the component. This is a problem with typical isolation materials. Because SorboGell has "critical damping" its beneficial applications are nearly limitless.
