Mark Audio J6T wide range driver (pair)
The high frequency performance of many wide band audio drivers has often been a critical issue. Markaudio has answered the extended high frequency needs of the audio industry with the introduction of the J6T Wide Band Tweeter. The design is totally new, conceived from it’s beginning to offer an enhanced performance in higher frequency range.
The J6T is intended for use as a lower-middle to high frequency unit to partner with bass drivers to make high-fidelity loudspeaker system. The J6T's Fo of 120Hz is an ideal match for most if not all woofer and sub-woofers. The J6T's range extends from 120Hz to 30kHz. The extra performance is excellent with a gain +10dB at 18kHz.
The J6T employs a custom designed hybrid resonance neutral chassis (superior to typical basket frames) with a 100mm circular faceplate, giving a range of easy construction options. The design is an acoustic suspension type. This gives additional design flexibility for the speaker system designer. The resonance frequency of this driver can be tuned by varying the enclosed air volume behind the unit. It is also suitable for open applications such as ported reflex, open baffle where protective crossover control is applied.
Sound Quality...?
The J6T driver is particularly sweet and clean at middle and higher frequency ranges. The detail from the large cone surface area projects extra detail, especially for classical and any music playing high note instruments. The lower and mid range is also excellent. Most traditional dome tweeters can not cover the lower mid-range to the same extent as the J6T. We recommend a run-in time of 30 hours, after which the cone and rim material will settle.
