Rothwell Indus passive pre-amp

The Indus is a no-compromise, top quality passive pre-amp featuring a true stepped attenuator volume control which is populated in house, by hand, with precision resistors giving superb channel balance (better than 0.1 dB). This pre-amp first appeared in the Rothwell catalogue in 1989 and has been through several upgrades and re-designs since then. The latest model has a single control stepped attenuator based on the famous Elma switching mechanism and uses low noise resistors carefully calculated to give a very smooth and user-friendly increase in volume as the control is rotated. There's no need to worry about lack of fine control over the volume of the system when using an Indus.
Along with re-styled casework, the inside of the Indus has been improved so that the signal path is as short and direct as possible. The improvements have made the new Indus even better than the old version. The sound is very transparent and all the detail of the recorded music is clealy revealed, but above all the sound is natural and un-forced. If you have never heard a good passive pre-amp, you should audition the Indus - you'll be surprised. Are you worried by what you may have heard above passive pre-amps sounding flat and lifeless with no ability to drive cables? Well, let me dispell that myth.
