Now, with the release of the RCD-1520, we have produced a CD player that sets a new standard for the 21st century, taking full advantage of the vast wealth of music now available on compact discs. The RCD-1520 utilizes a segmented power supply with a large toroidal transformer to minimize power supply “sag” and reduce hum emissions.

All rectifiers, voltage regulation components and BHC low-ESR storage capacitors are carefully selected, not only for tight tolerance specifications, but in particular, for their sound quality. Both analog and digital circuits undergo this careful scrutiny. For the digital domain, we have specified the superb Wolfson DAC for advanced digital filtration and D/A conversion and Burr Brown low distortion op amplifiers. The CD transport is a high performance slot loading mechanism.
