The Communicator's gain is optimised for high output cartridges making it ideal for public performance as well as for use with a domestic integrated amplifier, active preamp or computer sound card.

It's A Miniature Low Cost Professional Turntable Preamplifier
Suitable for all Moving Magnet and High Output Moving Coil cartridges. It boosts and equalises the stereo cartridge signal to "Domestic Line-Level", which makes it suitable for use with Integrated Amplifiers and Receivers, active Preamplifiers, most Passive Preamps and Professional Audio Mixers.

Technology
The Gram Amp 2 still has its original circuit, but because of RoHS requirements we've changed some of the components on a strict same-or-better basis. The outcome has been that many of the components are now even higher quality than before, bringing a further benefit to the sound. These improvements have opened up this revealing turntable preamp further still, allowing the music to really communicate, earning this Gram Amp 2 the additional name of "Communicator"
The case has been slimmed so that it fits a sub-rack or card-frame, taking up only 9HE [45mm] of space. A special front panel comes with every unit for this purpose. Nylon screws and spacers "ground-lift" the case to prevent "hum-loops" without compromising the grounding of the circuit and the excellent EMC shielding properties. Whether it's used professionally or not, the front panel sets it off with an impressive professional appearance.
Installers, studio or domestic, as well as turntable manufacturers, will find it very useful because of the numerous mounting/equipment-incorporation options it provides. The case has been provided with 12 accessible mounting holes [the four in the base carry the reusable snap-in feet] to allow the unit to be mounted behind a panel or above/beneath a console. The rear panel holes can be used to hang "P-clips" and other cable retention products in permanent installations. All these things will make it the obvious choice for the DJ too, when it comes to upgrading the sound.
We've proved once again that you can get a full scale performance out of a "micro" case and a simple mains adapter, using our advanced circuit techniques and vinyl record knowledge. Plus, you can upgrade as usual by adding the PSU1-24 power supply when you're ready, for an even more involving musical experience.
