Current Category We are very pleased to be appointed a dealer for The Disc Doctor cleaning products. The Disc Doctor Record Cleaning Fluid is used by The Rodgers & Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound, The Yale University Historical Sound Recordings, The Center for Popular Music and The Boston Public Library. It is widely recommended as well: The Vintage Jazz Mart; Dr David Evans, Professor of Music, University of Memphis; Nighthawk Records; Raymond R. Wile, noted Diamond Disc collector & Edison authority; Primyl Vinyl Exchange Newsletter; Listener Magazine; Positive Feedback; Audiophile Voice; Ultimate Audio; The Absolute Sound; Stereophile; TNT-Audio. If you link to the Disc Doctor's site (www.discdoc.com) you'll see there are additional brushes available for other size records. We can supply any of these, but have initially imported only the LP size. For an discussion and review link to http://www.tnt-audio.com/accessories/discdoctor_e.html It's worth noting that if a record is physically damaged there's nothing you can do to repair it. Often dust and grit has been ground into the groove's walls. Recently the Disc Doctor has released another product called Quick Wash. Although initially intended for people with vacuum cleaning machines it can also be used manually. It's a one step process, without a separate rinse stage. We have it available in small 118ml bottles as well as 1 quart bottles, and have also bundled it with a single Disc Doctor brush. For those with large numbers of vinyl records we are the agent for the Moth Record Cleaning Machine, available fully assembled or as a kit. Disc Doctor Quick Wash and Brush Kit Includes 118ml of ready to use record cleaning fluid plus one of the Disc Doctor's specially designed brushes. This enables the record to be thoroughly cleaned and the residue is then removed by vacuum (preferred) or soft absorbent cloth and allowed to air dry. Cleans about 50 LPs. This is a 118ml bottle of Disc Doctor Quick Wash cleaning fluid, diluted and ready for use. This is enough to clean about 50 LPs. You'll need a brush to work it into the grooves of a record thoroughly, and then lint free cloth or tissues to soak up the dirty fluid. The specially designed Disc Doctor brush is recommended. Cleaning your stylus regularly is very important, but most brushes are too soft to do it properly, and fluids are not recommended by many cartridge manufacturers. This plastic sheet from Linn is mildy abrasive on the dull side, and when it is carefully drawn over the stylus tip from the rear will dislodge material which has become fused to the diamond. To use, cut the sheet into small strips about 50mm x 10mm. Price includes postage.
